Reason for my absence.

Hello lovelies, as many of you have seen, it’s been a while since I last posted, so with great sadness and a broken heart, I’d thought I’d let you know why.

My Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on the 24th of December 2015.

Some of you may know that a pancreatic cancer diagnosis is not good, the chance of survival is next to none, unless you are lucky enough to be a candidate for the Whipple operation but to get to that stage you must endure chemotherapy and radiotherapy and Hope that the tumour shrinks and doesn’t spread.

The chemotherapy started on the 18th of February 2016, my mum’s birthday!

My Dad went through this without complaint, then there was radiotherapy.

This continued up until the tumour had shrunk enough for my Dad to be a candidate for the Whipple operation.

This operation is one of the biggest operations to undertake, I won’t go into detail, all I will say is that the operation took 10 hours.

My dad wanted this operation as it was a life extension of hopefully 5 to 10 years, without it he wouldn’t have got a year.

My dad walked into the hospital on the 15th of August 2016 , their wedding anniversary.

The operation itself went well and he was doing good, apart from a fall in the hospital toilet, as he was left unaided!

2 weeks after the Whipple operation he took a massive bleed that resulted in another surgery and another surgery the following day, my dad then spent the next 3 and a half weeks in Intensive care 😒

We sat by his bedside day and night willing and praying and hoping that he’d pull through, and he did ❀

I thought our prayers had been answered, I was wrong 😦

I won’t go into to much detail but some of you may have seen my anger on twitter at the lack of care my dad received, we couldn’t have shouted any louder.

My dad was left unable to walk and brain-damaged 😒 he never made it home after the operation and sadly he passed away on the 24th of February with my mother and brother and myself by his side πŸ’”

We can hopefully lay him to rest next week as this was delayed due to the procurator fiscal being involved as none of the doctors would sign his death certificate.

We got a temporary cause of death from the procurator fiscal and can register his death tomorrow, but it’s pending investigation 😒 we won’t know the real cause of his death for 6 to 8 week’s.

The only thing that’s keeping me going just now is knowing that he isn’t suffering anymore.

My heart is breaking πŸ’”

RAHUA VOLUMINOUS DRY SHAMPOO

Hello you lovely lot,
Today I thought I would share my favorite dry shampoo with you so that you can benefit from it as much as I do.
Rahua volumising dry shampoo.

This is a cruelty free and vegan product. made with organic ingredients and state of the art natural dry shampoo technology.

It is aerosol-free in a recyclable, eco-squeeze dispenser.
The price tag is fairly high Β£30 for 51g, but you definitely get what you pay for.
I began using this product around Christmas time of 2015, and have been using it ever since. It’s a must have for myself as I suffer from autoimmune diseases, and some days, I can’t manage to wash my hair.

My daughter, who relies on dry shampoo as she has extremely long and dark hair, which gets oily often, no matter how often she washes it, is also in love with this product and has favored it over other drug store sold products with a Β£5 or under price tag as they simply do not live up to rahua. Along with it making your hair look voluminous and clean, the bottle is an extremely convenient size which means you can throw it into your bag quickly before you leave the house.

As it’s aerosol free, therefore, you can easily use it at work or school without fear of setting the fire alarm off.
Furthermore, it’s also very rare to have to apply the product more than once in a day as it’s extremely long lasting.

STAR INGREDIENTS

β€’ CASSAVA: This edible root has been a staple for Amazonian people for thousands of years. Organic, food-grade Cassava starch absorbs water, oil, sweat, and debris from the scalp and hair and builds a supportive base for long-lasting durable styles.

β€’ COSMETIC CLAY: Absorbs oil, sweat and dirt from the scalp and hair.

β€’ STAR ANISE: An ancient medicinal plant, used for its antiseptic properties and soft clean fragrance notes.

I really don’t know why I haven’t picked up more from this brand, maybe it’s time for a spend πŸ™‚

You can purchase from here https://rahua.com/uk/rahua-voluminous-dry-shampoo.html

Has anyone tried anything from this brand ? If so I’d love to hear about it.
As always thanks for reading and much love ❀

Manicure Monday with Dior & Mavala

Today for manicure monday I decided to use Dior’s cosmopolite 785 for my base coat and mavala’s glam show 359 to add a touch of sparkle.

I love both these brands, Dior for obvious reasons, when my nails are short theirs nothing like a luxury polish to instantly make you feel better.

I took 2 pictures, one in direct sunlight and the other indoors, the featured image is outdoors.

What nail polish are you wearing today  ❀_20160222_165207

Gucci Bamboo Perfume

_20160213_150850This is my current favorite perfume at the moment, Gucci Bamboo EDP.

I think perfume is a very individual choice as we all know fragrance reacts differently on each other’s skin.

This is how it’s described,

Gucci Bamboo emanates the Gucci woman’s diverse sides: her femininity, confidence, savvy and strength. The fragrance represents her essence. Soft and intense at once, Gucci Bamboo’s sensorial composition draws its inspiration from the Gucci woman’s harmonious dichotomy. Natural and resonant ingredients create a captivating olfactory story. Woody and warm notes vibrate through the heart and base. Deep Sandalwood, heady Tahitian vanilla and unique grey amber accords strike a complementary contrast with the inherent femininity found in exotic floral notes of soft casablanca lily, feminine orange blossom and delicate ylang ylang.

Personally i’m never able to identify scents by the notes that are in them. I just know if I like the perfume or not. This one I like, It’s a fresh fragrance and it doesn’t smell very “woodsy”. I also don’t smell any vanilla. However, i can say that it’s a long lasting perfume, and also the roller ball is my absolute favorite, it goes everywhere and fit’s in any size bag, and if more perfume houses made fragrance pens I’m pretty certain I’d buy them all.

I received the gift set with the body lotion also, which is a bonus as I love to use body lotion in the summer.

I have Brows πŸ˜Š

_20160203_132145Β Eye Brows, I certainly wasn’t blessed with great brows they are really fair and with my illness they can fall out, so trying to find a brow product that looks natural and doesn’t take longer than the rest of my makeup had been a struggle.

After just one application from a benebabe in fraser’s just before Christmas. I have found the one Benefits Gimme Brow ! In two minutes I had Brows, it really is incredible.

Β How does it work?

It is a brush-on fiber gel and it adheres to the skin and hair creating fuller, natural looking brows. It is definitely the most natural looking product I have tried and it is easy to use & if I can apply it when my hands are bad then anyone can.

The wand is really small, so you have more control than you would with other brow gels – it is foolproof! Even if you have the lightest hair and ‘invisible brows’, you will be amazed with the results, as the gel adheres to the shortest hair and adds length, volume and colour.

I don’t have to worry about messing up my eyebrows anymore, because I simply brush through them with the bristles and I am done! . You can make your brows as full as you wish with Gimme Brow, starting with a very natural look, or building it up for a bold effect if that’s what you prefer.

The lasting power is great and once on, the product stays in place all day, without flaking or smudging.

There are two shades available: Light/Medium and Medium/Deep.

I am really impressed with Benefit’s Gimme Brow and I have been using it every single day, Β The fact that I have been wearing it on ‘no makeup’ days means that I might be obsessed with actually having brows.Β

The price is Β£18.50 for 0.3g. Β I think if you had the same brow problem as myself the price might put you off, I suggest going into a benefit counter & get one of the bene-babes to apply it for you like I did, ( best thing I done ) Β The benebabes in Frasers Glasgow Store are just lovely.

I just wish I’d starting using it earlier, I wouldn’t have wasted money on lots of products.

What are you loving just now.

Nip & Fab Dragons Blood Serum

  • You have probably all heard about Nip & Fab Dragons Blood PlumpingScreenshot_2016-01-30-19-53-24_1 Serum by now. It’s a lightweight serum containing hyaloric acid, this is supposed to be amazing for fine lines and wrinkles, therefore leaving the face feeling plumper and hydrated, I apply after cleansing patting onto my skin, after about 1 to 2 minutes the serum has absorbed and you can apply moisturiser if needed, I use morning and night and sometimes if my skin is feeling dry I apply when and where needed. I can say I love this serum obviously at 43 my wrinkles haven’t disappeared but I am more than happy with the results and the price, you can buy 50ml for Β£9.99 at superdrug or boots for Β£19.99 on 3 for 2 offer. Have you used any Nip & Fab Range ? if so do you have any favourites.
