Just a little Life update.

Hello lovelies, just a little life update today.
As most of you know my Dad died in February and his death is currently in the hands of the fatal accident inquiry.

You could say life has been a little stressful.

We did go on a holiday in may to Mallorca to scatter my dad’s ashes, that was a bit up and down emotional wise.

My eldest daughter started Glasgow university in September, that was a proud mum moment.

My 6 year old daughter was diagnosed with asthma and sleep apnea, after being hospitalised several times, not good. She’s also receiving berevement counseling, to help her with the loss of her grandad.

I was trying to move life along by taking my daughter’s out, we had a good time at the Coca-Cola truck, even if it was freezing.
I purchased my own domain name and was going to do all sorts to my blog for the New year but knowing me, nothing goes quite to plan.

I managed to get tickets for the Christmas lights switch on in George Square, Glasgow last Sunday night and the kids, my mum and I had a wonderful time.

Last week was pancreatic cancer awareness month, I managed down to Glasgow Cathedral to take some pictures of the purple lights so I could share on social media for awareness of this devastating disease 💜

I ended up in hospital on Tuesday, so I underwent a CT scan, heart tracing and bloods and was sent to the stroke clinic the following day for more tests, and now I’ve to go for a MRI scan on Monday and a Doppler Scan on Wednesday.
I’ll know more next week.

I always say sorry for being quiet as Life gets in the way, maybe I should stop saying that and jinxing myself.

Anyhoo I’m trying to get into the Christmas spirit and I hope you all are too.

Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado.

Hello there lovelies, it’s been a while since I posted.
I thought I’d share with you this little pot of avocado goodness from kiehls.

This eye cream is extremely thick and I scoop it out with a little plastic spoon and pat gently.

I thought I wouldn’t be able to wear makeup over this rich cream but I have no problems, on saying that I haven’t been using concealer since using this, my under eye area is definitely a lot brighter and softer since using this.
I can’t say that my wrinkles have disappeared as that would be a lie, but kiehls don’t claim that either!

The unique, concentrated texture is enriched with Avocado to gently moisturise the delicate eye area.

The formula does not migrate into eyes and is Ophthalmologist and Dermatologist-Tested.

I bought the little jar first because it’s quite expensive and I’m fed up wasting money, only for it to end up in the cupboard or I give it away!
This is my second purchase “large jar”

It’s definitely one of my favourite products of the year!

I’ve listed the ingredients from kiehls below.

Avocado Oil, derived from the fruit of a tropical American tree, is a rich, fatty-acid emollient. Avocado Oil is known to be the most moisturizing of any fruit oil. It is also a natural source of Amino Acid proteins, Vitamins A, D, E, and potassium. Helps to restore the natural moisture of the skin.

Beta-Carotene is a naturally derived antioxidant predominantly found in many orange/red vegetables such as carrots. It is used in Vitamin A production and gives an orange tint when used in skin care products.

Shea Butter is the natural fat obtained from the fruit of the African Karate tree and is widely used in lotions and cleansing products for its hydrating properties. Protects skin from dehydration, restores skin’s suppleness and improves the appearance of dry skin.

Reason for my absence.

Hello lovelies, as many of you have seen, it’s been a while since I last posted, so with great sadness and a broken heart, I’d thought I’d let you know why.

My Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on the 24th of December 2015.

Some of you may know that a pancreatic cancer diagnosis is not good, the chance of survival is next to none, unless you are lucky enough to be a candidate for the Whipple operation but to get to that stage you must endure chemotherapy and radiotherapy and Hope that the tumour shrinks and doesn’t spread.

The chemotherapy started on the 18th of February 2016, my mum’s birthday!

My Dad went through this without complaint, then there was radiotherapy.

This continued up until the tumour had shrunk enough for my Dad to be a candidate for the Whipple operation.

This operation is one of the biggest operations to undertake, I won’t go into detail, all I will say is that the operation took 10 hours.

My dad wanted this operation as it was a life extension of hopefully 5 to 10 years, without it he wouldn’t have got a year.

My dad walked into the hospital on the 15th of August 2016 , their wedding anniversary.

The operation itself went well and he was doing good, apart from a fall in the hospital toilet, as he was left unaided!

2 weeks after the Whipple operation he took a massive bleed that resulted in another surgery and another surgery the following day, my dad then spent the next 3 and a half weeks in Intensive care 😢

We sat by his bedside day and night willing and praying and hoping that he’d pull through, and he did ❤

I thought our prayers had been answered, I was wrong 😦

I won’t go into to much detail but some of you may have seen my anger on twitter at the lack of care my dad received, we couldn’t have shouted any louder.

My dad was left unable to walk and brain-damaged 😢 he never made it home after the operation and sadly he passed away on the 24th of February with my mother and brother and myself by his side 💔

We can hopefully lay him to rest next week as this was delayed due to the procurator fiscal being involved as none of the doctors would sign his death certificate.

We got a temporary cause of death from the procurator fiscal and can register his death tomorrow, but it’s pending investigation 😢 we won’t know the real cause of his death for 6 to 8 week’s.

The only thing that’s keeping me going just now is knowing that he isn’t suffering anymore.

My heart is breaking 💔

Today I thought I would share my favorite dry shampoo with you so that you can benefit from it as much as I do.
Rahua volumising dry shampoo.

This is a cruelty free and vegan product. made with organic ingredients and state of the art natural dry shampoo technology.

The price tag is fairly high £30 for 51g, but you definitely get what you pay for.
I began using this product around Christmas time of 2015, and have been using it ever since. It’s a must have for myself as I suffer from autoimmune diseases, and some days, I can’t manage to wash my hair.

1. I used to play roller hockey, my nickname was young blood & my Glasgow team finished 5th in the UK championship game.

2. I once crashed on a motorbike and ended up in hospital overnight with a bad concussion, on the taxi ride home from hospital the taxi crashed & I ended up back in hospital for another 2 nights.

3. My uncle entered me into Miss Glasgow Guardian Beauty Competition without my knowledge and I was mortified to see in the paper that I’d made it to the final selection 🙈 everybody thought it was rather funny and knowing me they knew I wouldn’t attend, ah but I did much to my family and friends surprise, I did the whole thing & made my uncle pay for my evening gown and swimsuit 😀 it was quite embarrassing doing a beauty pageant but also quite fun even though I only came 4th lol, It was a experience.

4. I didn’t sleep in my own bed till I was 11, I preferred sleeping in my granny’s bed.

5.  I always cut my own hair, one bad hairdresser mistake when I was 13 put me off for life.

6.  I have many tattoo’s, probably about 100 flower’s, several skulls, many stars, hearts and a breast cancer bow and butterfly.

7.  I speak Gaelic, but can’t write very much as I’m dyslexic.

That’s a difficult one for me as I always wanted to be be able to fly but I’d get carried away so I’d have to say to be able to sprinkle kindness on everyone, as I think people have forgotten that kindness is free & one small show of kindness can change someone’s day.

I don’t have a favourite book, being dyslexic I try to read as much as I can.
I can tell you the first book I managed to read fully & actually enjoy was called 3 girls and a baby, I think I was 11.
